Yeahhhh, bace135 in the House tonight!
Welcome everybody to my little spot on the internet. I set up this little site so I can showcase my work in my own format without having to worry about all that social networking nonsense. I'll be updating new music as often as possible, along with occasional blog styled rants. So go ahead and peruse the music and feel free to send me a message through the contact page.

"Funk for the trunk is what I provide you..."
Good goddamn this has got the fonk. Yes, that's fonk with an 'o'. I don't know why all my beats don't have slap bass. I think that's going to be my new thing. This one really has it all. Funky bass, horn section, strings, cheezy organ... what more could you ask for. Well how about a proper mix, for starters!

This is a beat I just revisited today. I redid the drums and added some strings and a little funky jazz guitar. This is really sounding good to me. Like, I can't stop listening to it good. Makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

I really like the drums I did for this one. This is a beat you can just vibe to. Some nice complimentary elements. Kinda feels like a foggy summer evening in the Inner Sunset. No samples. Who else is digging this one?

So, this is the first beat I've made in quite a while (thank you spring break). I heard the song I sampled while in the car and thought I would sample the intro. But, I ended up sampling a break instead (for the hook). Didn't do too much to the sample, and I'm not proud of that, but it sounds good, so I went with it. Bass line reminds me of ("she's fresh, so fresh, exciting"). I always wanted to do a bass line like that. Mix prolly needs a little work, so please bear with me.

I think I have some verses that work well for this beat. I like how it's so upbeat. Just need to write a proper hook. Not a lot of changeups, but it sounds good to me. Do you agree?

The arrangement on this one is a tad unorthodox, but I think it works well with the sample for this one. I might need to work on the verse/hook transitions, and admittedly the mix is pretty rough on this one, but I think once everything gets tightened up, this will be a very awesome supercala beat. That's right.

This is some old Bay Area "Back To The Hotel" sounding ish. I didn't mean it to come out like that, but I can't tell what somethings gonna be. I just start putting things together and whatever it becomes is what it is. No preconceived notions going in. But this still stands on it's own. Dig it.

I did the old play the sample at the beginning of the track trick with this one. Clever, huh? Anyways, I like to take that straight ahead rock and funk it up a bit. The sample is from a 2005 record too... no need to go so far back in time to find something to work with.

Synthed out and loving it. I have two verses ready to go for this beat. The song is gonna be raw. I just need to come up with a hook. Unfortunately my girl is not super hyped on this beat. Whatever it's gonna be raw. Ha.

Ha ha, this beat will likely be used belatedly for my anti hipster song. "Take your little broke wannabe hipster ass outta here..." ha ha. I say belatedly because by the time I get it recorded the hipster phenomenon will likely have passed. "There was a so called DJ won't name names..." This one is different. Only a bace135 would do some ish like this.

My guess is you're either going to love or hate this early 2009 beat. I can see that synth grating on some peoples ears. But for me it sounds exciting. It's like the different sounds are incongruent yet somehow they all kinda flow together. I can't explain it, but it just works. Do you agree?

This beat is pretty minimalist for my standards, but I think it's dope. I made this in late 2008 or so (I think). Lots of low end (though you wouldn't necessarily be able to tell from this mix, grrr) makes this one a good one to rap to. I think I promised it to somebody, but I'm not sure who...

I'm trying to figure out if you're laughing with me or at me... I mean, this beat is soooo dope to me, but yet I can't take it seriously. I'm curious if anyone else enjoys this 2007ish beat. Another beat only the maker could love? Another beat only a lame could hate on? What's the good word?

I made this beat right around the time I was putting the finishing touches on Monkey Vs. Robot, Man Vs. Machine. It might be my favorite from that era. It uses several samples from old Looney Tune cartoons (meeee?) as well as some synth sounds. Classic bace135.
